The Big Tent (Tendone)
The first "Tendone" set up measured forty meters by twenty. La Festa da d’Istà and its "Tendone", newly established, immediately achieved great success, especially due to the music played there. It can be said that the Tiroler Nachtsschwärmer, with their trumpets, cornets, and trombones, made the history of the festival since they were hosted for six years. The lovers of today's "Tendone" are the same age as the organizers were twenty-five years ago. The music that is now most popular is a blend of modernized revival that appeals to the tastes of the younger generations. The average age of those attending the "Tendone" has decreased over the years because nowadays even the younger ones, those not yet of age, have economic opportunities that their peers, a quarter of a century ago, couldn't even dream of.That music is the heart of the "Tendone" was something the organizers of La Festa da d’Istà understood from the very beginning, and they have always made an effort to invite the best Austrian folk groups to Canazei. The music that has made the "Tendone" successful, of selected quality, is now an essential point of reference for those seeking the right melodies to organize successful parties.
